The Greatest Commandment is to love God and and love our neighbor. One of the easiest ways to love our actual neighbors is by identifying and meeting real needs.
Our neighbor Omid is an Iranian man whom God has burdened us for here in Irvine. Recently, Omid and Matt had a discussion about faith and the Gospel as they sat on his couch hearing each others stories. As a way to demonstrate the love of Christ, Matt asked him if there was anyway that we could serve him. Omid said he’d love help with his rotted fence as the city has asked him to fix it, but he doesn’t have the resources to do so. While there, we also noticed that his landscaping and yard needs extra attention as well.
On July 19th, our life group will be coming together for “Project Regenerate” of Omid’s front yard and fencing. God is in the business of making things new and giving new life to things. This project is a demonstration of how God regenerates, restores, and redeems all of creation.
Would you consider partnering with us in prayer and costs for this project? Pray that Omid would come to know the Lord and that his salvation would be found in Christ. Please also considering giving as the projected budget for this neighborhood rehab is $700-$800 which would include:
A new fence and gate, flowers, plants, soaking system, pavers and other landscaping items. We’d also be using cement, mulch, renting a dumpster, and eating lunch with Omid and the team.
